While we are pleased to present issue 5 of BAT, we are also saddened to announce that it will be the last issue. After careful consideration, we have decided to discontinue publication. This project has been a labor of love for all of us; however, between our differing locations, finances and personal commitments, we have found it increasingly difficult to continue. When we started BAT, we agreed to publish at least four issues. In completing our fifth, we have exceeded those expectations. We are proud of what we have done within its pages and believe we did what we set out to do-publish an intelligent and creative opinion-based journal of art criticism. Of course, we would not have been able to do this save for our writers who, without any compensation (except for free issues of BAT), contributed smart, thoughtful essays and reviews. We thank them for all their hard work and insightful writing. We also want to thank Lori Waxman for the time she spent copyediting the last three issues. With her help, BAT was raised to a higher standard of journalism. Lastly, we want to thank everyone who supported us by either purchasing a copy of BAT or becoming a subscriber. Your financial encouragement let us know there was merit in our efforts and gave us that much more incentive to push forward. |
